What you should do

# 1. Post a blog 3 times a week (M, W & F) of at least 200 words. In your blogs you could:

-describe something you learned

-explain something that surprised you

-give an update about stuff you're working on

-explain how you solved a problem

-tell a cool story

Also include images, sounds or video from your project.

# 2. Respond thoughtfully to another blogger's posts on this site. Post 1 of these response-blogs per week (200 or more words each).

Each of you is expected to contribute to this blog--even if you're working with another student or with a group.

I'm really looking forward to following your project via your postings! Have fun!

First Day Jitters

Walking into Luna on my first day of project I was very scared.  I was excited but I was so much more nervous that it somewhat drowned out my excitement.  I currently work in a restaurant so I wasn’t going in totally blind; however, I did much different work at Luna than at my real job.  Also meeting new people is always intimidating.  Especially in a place where they know exactly what they are doing and I had no clue.  The first thing Kasey and I did together was shredded cheese.  This was a great first task because it was very easy, because there is a machine for shredding cheese!  I was very relieved.
For the majority of the day we worked with someone named Hannah.  She is extremely friendly and told Kasey and I to always ask questions and not to be nervous.  This advice helped a lot in my opinion because I was freaking out for basically the entire day.  The second thing we did was made sugar cookie dough.  It was basically just like making cookies at home except the recipe was times 8!  So there was more of everything and it took longer to mix it all.  Once we finally finished we got to taste some and I have to say it was very yummy.  The last thing we did was made buttercream.  Buttercream is used for cakes and because Luna had a bunch of cake orders for this weekend we had to make 2 batches.  Buttercream only has 5 ingredients so it was very easy to make.  At the end of the day I was more tired than after a school day.  This didn't surprised me because restaurant work is not easy and people don't always understand that.
