What you should do

# 1. Post a blog 3 times a week (M, W & F) of at least 200 words. In your blogs you could:

-describe something you learned

-explain something that surprised you

-give an update about stuff you're working on

-explain how you solved a problem

-tell a cool story

Also include images, sounds or video from your project.

# 2. Respond thoughtfully to another blogger's posts on this site. Post 1 of these response-blogs per week (200 or more words each).

Each of you is expected to contribute to this blog--even if you're working with another student or with a group.

I'm really looking forward to following your project via your postings! Have fun!

Week In Review

For me, it is really weird to think that the first week of project, albeit a half week, has already finished. Maybe because it means we are closer to graduation or because it means I am getting closer to switching my project location.
These past three days have been nice and relaxing being off from school and interesting watching how the real world works. As of today, I have 34 surveys filled out. While this is a really good number for three days at a pediatrician’s office, it probably could have been better. Also, because of Akron Children’s rules and my age, I am not allowed to actually shadow a doctor, which was what I had hoped for. This was what my sponsor and I had planned on doing but because I am still 17 and have no medical experience beyond my own medical issues, I am not allowed by the hospital guidelines. Instead, I go in after the appointment and talk to the parent and child about their experience and how their day has been while also spending time interacting with the rest of the office.
This week has been great and the POA office is an amazing office to work with. I will be really sad to leave on Wednesday but I am excited to work in a new place soon as well. Everyone is really nice and relaxed and just fun to be around and work with.

Even with challenges, I am enjoying my project and the experiences I am having. Also, I am learning a lot even with these challenges and the little kids that come in are adorable.
